Masons Campsite T&Cs

We are a family run campsite that welcomes family groups (subject to our group terms and conditions below), young children and dogs.  It is important to us that campers respect our quiet hours and also respect their fellow campers during their stay.

We take great pride in our high levels of customer service.  It is difficult to fix things and deal with issues after you have left the site.  Please come and see us if you have an issue and we will do our very best to resolve the problem.

Business closure

If the business is unable to provide the services booked by the customer due to unforeseen circumstances by the business owners or closed for business by governing bodies. Masons will automatically issue a 2 year credit note to reuse at your choosing.

Check-in is from 1pm for camping & caravanning


Check-in for glamping is 3pm


Check-out is 11am


Quiet time is 11pm until 7am


No music to be played anytime through amplified devices

Nature is better when you can hear it.


Arrivals outside of office hours MUST be pre authorised as clear instructions will need to be relayed. Office hours are subject to seasonal change.  Please contact the office if you will be arriving on site after 5pm.

For out of hours emergencies please call 999 and the police will attend.


We do not allow drones.


We do not allow generators.


All visiting dogs must be kept on leads.


We do not allow groups of teenagers or young adults that are not attended by a responsible parent or guardian whilst on site.


There will be no refunds given for early departure for any reason whatsoever.


Our rules are for the benefit of everyone at Masons and if you choose not to abide by them you may be asked to leave, and you will not be given a refund.


Any refunds for errors made by customers online incur a £2.50 charge per transaction made.  Any other refunds of balances will incur a £25 admin charge.

Bookings – General

To make a reservation, a non-refundable deposit or full payment is required at the time of booking.

Bookings can be made over the phone, online or in person.

Deposits & balances are to be paid by debit/credit card or cash.

We do not accept cheques.

Final balances on all accommodations must be paid in line with the due date. Failure to do so will result in your booking being fortified.

Any changes to the booking also must be notified outside your relevant due date for any refunds.*

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Payments must be made in full by your due date & no refunds or transfers can be made.

Phone bookings

Full payment for single nights

A deposit is taken to secure all bookings for 2nights or more. The minimum deposit is £42.50 thereafter bookings with the total value of more than £85.00 will have a 50% deposit taken.

Balance due 28 days prior to your arrival.*

Full payment 120 days prior to the booking

During the time you make your booking online & receiving our confirmation there may be a small chance during busy periods that we will have to contact you to amend your booking request. Perhaps this may be an alternative arrival or departure date or minimum number of nights

To avoid any disappointment in your booking not being processed please make sure you fill the booking form in correctly. This INCLUDES your tent size

Should you cancel more than 28 Days before you stay, Masons Campsite will refund you, the amount paid, less the deposit, booking fee.


Camping pitches are graded according to size

It is important to provide us with the correct dimensions of all units at the time of booking and we reserve the right to refuse a booking if the information provided is incorrect. Should it be deemed necessary to move your booking to a larger pitch as a result of incorrect information having been provided, we shall request any further monies owed.

If you intend to bring a bigger or smaller tent than the one specified in this booking email, then please let us know immediately

This will be classed as an amendment to your booking and we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to accommodate your request as we get booked up in advance

Gazebos/ pup tents mess tents/ dinning tents must be discussed prior to arrival to ensure we can accommodate your request. Additional charges apply


Masons Glamping is not suitable for groups of teenagers or young adults. There must be an appropriate adult / parent / guardian staying in the same glamping unit. Our pricing structure classes a 16 year old as an adult, by cost only, and this does not qualify such a person to act in the above capacity. Any groups arriving without such an adult will have their booking cancelled and no refund will be offered. If there is any doubt about the above please get in touch with a friendly member of staff by phone before you make a booking.

Should you cancel more than 6 weeks before you stay, Masons Campsite will refund you, the amount paid, less the deposit, booking fee.

Security Deposit

£100 per glamping unit held on arrival by card is required to cover damages / additional cleaning / damage to the property & will be released on checkout.

An inventory is provided within your tent. This inventory lists all of the items within your glamping unit and you must check this list on arrival.  You are liable for any items found broken or missing and the cost of these will be deducted from your deposit.  Guests agree to inform Masons of any loss or damage and Masons reserves the right to enter your glamping unit for inspection at any time during your stay.

Arrival & Departure

The booking is held for the date of arrival.

Check-in is from 1.00pm for camping and caravanning.

Check-in for glamping is 3pm.

Check-out is 11am.

Anything outside of these hours is classified as an early check-in or late check-out and must be pre- approved and paid for.

All nights booked at Masons will be to pay for in full regardless of late arrivals and there will be no refunds given for early departures.

Should you fail to arrive on your booking date, please note that your pitch is not guaranteed for the next day and your booking will be cancelled unless you speak with the office and receive confirmation that a late arrival is okay.


Masons operates an APR barrier system and in order to access the site your vehicle must be booked on at the time of booking in line with the APR requirements.

One vehicle is included in the price.

If you bring a second car it is likely that you may have to park elsewhere, especially in high season when space is limited.

It is not always possible when glamping for your car to be parked in the glamping area. You will be allowed to unload and then told where to park.

We do not accept responsibility for any damage caused to your car or personal property whilst staying on site.

Group Bookings

Masons reserves the right to refuse any group booking at the time of booking or an arrival.

Masons does not allow:

Single sex groups

Hen or stag parties.

Groups of teenagers or young adults who are not accompanied by a fully responsible parent or legal guardian who is staying on site.

All other group bookings are allowed entirely at the discretion of management and must be pre-approved over the telephone or in person or by email before booking is permitted.

Please note that any group bookings made directly via our online booking system which by-pass pre approval may be rejected.

Bookings of 3 pitches or more are full payment at the time of booking*

By making a group booking at Masons campsite you are confirming that everyone in your group is happy to adhere to our Terms and Conditions.

Please note, if you are making an individual booking but are associated with other guests on site, you will become part of our group booking policy and will be automatically subject to our group terms even if you are not pitched together.

On arrival, all parties need to call into our reception (the silver Airstream caravan) to check in.

Each unit within a group is required to pay a £40 pre-authorised security deposit by card. This is to ensure that each member of the group upholds our terms and conditions. A link to make this payment can be found in your payment link in your booking confirmation.

The deposit will be due either 28 days before your arrival or in line with your balance due date. Please note this is a holding deposit only and will be released automatically within 7 business days after your departure. Should monies need to be retained this will be discussed with you during your stay.

This can be paid by either cash or card, and ensures that our Terms and Conditions are upheld by the whole group.

Although we try our best to ensure that all members of groups are pitched together, we cannot guarantee this especially in peak periods.

We recommend that groups who want to pitch together book into the River Field when available. We do not allocate specific pitches in the River Field and guests are able to choose where to pitch. Only tents and small campervans are permitted in the River Field. (Please note, the River Field does not offer any electric hook-ups. And caravans & motorhomes & long wheel based campervans are not permitted).

It is important to provide us with the correct dimensions of all units at the time of booking and we reserve the right to refuse a booking if the information provided is incorrect. Should it be deemed necessary to move your booking to a larger pitch as a result of incorrect information having been provided, we shall request any further monies owed.

In the event that we have no standard pitches available and you choose to book a premium pitch then the full price will be applicable regardless of the size of your unit.

If the group fails to adhere to our few but necessary rules & regulations, we reserve the right to ask the entire group to leave with no refunds provided.

Fire Pits

Open fires are not allowed. If you would like a fire you must hire a fire pit from Masons.

We have a limited number of fire pits which are allocated on a first come, first served basis. We understand that it can be disappointing if there are no fire pits left but we have a number which is fitting with health and safety and we take the safety of our campers very seriously.

There is a limit of 1 x fire pit per group.

You must be 18 to hire a fire and the fire pits must also be collected by an adult as they are very heavy.

Guests are not permitted to use their own wood. Any additional logs must be purchased from Masons.  We use sustainably sourced wood and the cost of the wood is £8 per bag.

It is strictly forbidden to forage and burn timber from the land as this disturbs natural habitat within the National Park.

Fires must be kept at a controlled height and within at a sensible distance from any flammable items.

Fires must not be left unattended.

Fire pits must not be moved whilst burning and whilst still hot.

Do not empty hot ashes into the rubbish bins. You must empty your hot ashes into the hot ash bins which are located next to the office.

Children must not play near the fires.

Fire pits must be returned by 11am.

If you feel that the rules are not being adhered to we reserve the right to extinguish your fire and remove your fire pit and your deposit will not be returned.


Masons campsite has a number of security deposits to uphold T&C’s, card details are taken for a holding deposit which is secured on the customers card by our card providers. This is then released 7 days after your departure. You will provide your card details through your online gateway for your booking in advance of your arrival.

BBQ’s are permitted if raised off the grass. There are wire shopping baskets for this purpose in the refuse area.

You must not use the dry-stone wall stones to raise your BBQ off the floor.

Do not put BBQs on the ground or on the wooden kitchen area of the glamping area.

Cancellation Policy

Bookings cannot be amended or moved within 28 days of booking for camping and caravanning.

Bookings cannot be amended or moved within 42 days of booking for glamping.

No refunds will be given within the relevant 28 or 42 day period.

Bookings can be moved or cancelled outside of the relevant 28 or 42 period, but the non-refundable deposit will not be refunded in any circumstances.

Poor weather is not and will never be a ground for refund or to move a booking.

We do not give refunds for early departures for any reason whatsoever.

We reserve the right to cancel bookings for reasons deemed necessary by the management at any stage in the booking and check-in process.

If you do not abide by our rules you will be asked to leave, and you will not be given a refund.

Once a booking has been confirmed we take this as acceptance of our terms and conditions.
