We’re located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, surrounded by beautiful landscape and just a stone’s throw away from the local pub and eatery. This makes us the perfect base from which to hike, cycle, adventure, or lounge on the banks of the River Wharfe.
We are a short walkable distance to the quaint villages of Appletreewick, Burnsall and Grassington. We are situated on the route of the famous Dales way walk a few miles along the river from the historic Bolton Abbey estate.
From Masons, you can see Simon’s Seat which is a great walk to complete – you will pass through the Valley of Desolation before reaching the summit from where you will have uninterrupted views of the campsite and the valley below.
The Village of Appletreewick is home to two unique country pubs including the family owned and locally renowned Craven Arms.
If you walk down to the bottom of the site you will find the River Wharfe which is popular for wild swimming, fly fishing and paddling. It is also a favourite route for walking up to Burnsall and floating back down to Appletreewick on a dinghy.
